1. In Thailand if you have more than 120 playing cards, you are a breaking the law.

The law is called 1935 Playing Cards Act. Last week police arrested some bridge players including an 84 year old Dutch man from a resort in the town of Pattaya, Thailand.

Hillary Clinton has spent $9,046 on American pizza – more than any other candidate. The illustrious Donald Trump has only spent $1,223, about eight times less than Hillary.

3. It will set you £5,000 back, if you want to surgically remove a sock from your dog’s stomach.

Owners of a British dog Toffee were horrified when they learned their dog had swollen a sock. But they were distraught when they found out that he will die if not operated urgently. The final bill would be more than £5,000 which thankfully, was covered by pet insurance.

4. Female Orangutans commit murders for selfish motives – just like humans.

This is just like a thriller movie. The incident occurred in Borneo. Where a female Orangutans got jealous of competition and conspired with his “boyfriend” to kill another female.

5. Inmates’ on death row often say more positive things than negative things.

Dr. Sarah Hirschmüller and Dr. Boris Egloff, the researches were somewhat surprised to listen to the final words of death row inmates. They saw that most inmates had positive things to say rather than negative. The researchers concluded that it was a mix of human emotions and good jail therapy.

6. David Bowie’s dog also has different colored eyes, just like his late master did.

The condition is called Anisocoria. The “different color” is an illusion. In this condition, one pupil remains permanently dilated and doesn’t respond to light as the other pupil does. David Bowie suffered from Anisocoria but so did his dog Max.

7. People from Oregon are fastest talking in United States whiles the Mississippi people are the slowest.

The researched look into phone calls made by the residents of different areas of United States. The phone calls were not private of course, they were obtained through various businesses where people had called as consumers.

8. There is a 10K race in Moldova’s largest wine selling establishment.

Runners have to endure humid weather, haunted house noises and sounds from speakers and above all: a very dark and dingy cave. They give them headlights but sometimes they are not enough for a creepy dark cave.

9. If an indivisibility cloak was invented, it would stop working if the object is travelling at light’s speed (or even close to it).

Einstein’s theory of relativity is to be blamed here. Some of our beloved sci-fi shows have been busted. When you are approaching speed of light, the effects of relativism occur; making the cloak worthless. 10. The wrinkles on your brain can be replicated in a jar.

Scientists used a two layered-gel and re-produced the wrinkles of a human brain. When placed in a glass jar full of an organic solvent for 20-30 minutes, the outer layer of the silicon-based gel -or “gel brain” swelled up and contorted itself into a very familiar shape.

Not applying enough sunscreen

We should all be using sunscreen daily, but we don’t always do so. Sun protection is key for both skin health and anti-aging as the sun is the number one cause of preventable skin aging. When applying sunscreen, make sure to apply generously. It’s recommended to use a shot glass full to cover your whole body. And don’t forget to do it daily!

Not washing your face at bedtime

Everybody falls victim to this fail at least once or twice in their life (sometimes once or twice a week!). Get in the habit of washing your face before your head hits the pillow. It helps remove dirt, oils, and debris from air pollution and makeup. 

Picking at blemishes and touching your face

It can be hard to resist picking at that pesky pimple that popped up in the middle of your forehead, but touching your face with hands that are dirty is a big no. It spreads bacteria that is living on your hands all over your face. Do your best to just treat the zit and let it sit. 

Overusing products with retinol

Retinoids are adored by skincare aficionados for its ability to enhance collagen production, smooth skin, and even pigmentation. However, too much of a good thing can make it into a bad thing. Retinol is too overpowering for those with sensitive skin in most cases and should be used sparingly if at all. 

Not drinking enough water

Drink more water! Dehydration causes sallow and lifeless skin. Try to drink about half your weight in ounces of water a day. Doing so will not only help you glow, but you’ll feel better all around.

It had took him 70 years – and four long flights – to finally set his eyes on his World War II love. Thomas is a 93 year old Veteran from Virginia who met Joyce during his army duty in the World War II.

“I’d preferably pass on making a trip to Australia than live lounging around at home pondering what might have happened”, Thomas said, before he exited for the journey.

The first time they met was in London, just prior to the Normandy invasion, also referred to as the D-day. At the time, Joyce Morris was a 17 year old English girl and Thomas still remembers her as a “pretty little thing”. He himself was 21 and was a paratrooper with the hundred and first Airborne.

Thomas was just enjoying his leave along with his friend, Jack, strolling along the River Thames when he first set his gaze on her. Morris was looking for a rowboat with her friend, Iris. They started chitchat and meanwhile got in a boat together, while Jack joined Iris. From there on, they would meet whenever they got a chance.

Thomas joined the Allied forces in the invasion of Normandy in May, 1944, and while he leapt with parachutes directly into war lands on parts of German-controlled France to combat the Nazis, Morris prayed for his safety. Eventually, he did survive.

All was perfectly well, when one day in 1945, Thomas was given orders to return home to America from England. He did not get a chance to say farewell, neither could they meet again after that. Thomas still remembers her as being special. As per him, “she was the one that got away.”

They communicated through letters after that, in one of which Thomas even sent to Morris a marriage proposal. Morris however misinterpreted this and thought that Thomas had found someone he wanted to marry. She instantly stopped responding and Thomas was left with only a picture of her.

The two moved on with their lives and got married to different people. They were soon busy in their children and work. In 2001, Thomas’ wife kicked the bucket and Morris divorced her husband after 30 years of marriage.

A year ago, Morris, with the help of her son, located Thomas on the internet. He was mentioned in The Virginian-Pilot article as an 88-year old war hero who leaped out of a plane, just for leisure. It was the same daring man she recalled from those days.

She took the step to reach out to him. Her son, Rob, placed the call and Thomas received it while shopping at a hardware store. Once he figured out who it was, he gasped in surprise. As soon as he got home, he reached for his old bag which contained some photographs. He shuffled through the pile until he got what he wanted. Right in his hand was the picture, Morris had given him before he went to war.

After this, Thomas had a skype call with Morris, who is 88 now and almost visionless. For two hours they chuckled and recalled old memories which had quite faded away, given their age.

When their story hit the public, more than hundreds of people arranged for contributions, just to sponsor Thomas’ trip to Australia, and Air New Zealand even arranged for the flight. Thomas’ son, Steve, was very excited on the generosity of the people and wanted to let them all know that Thomas was indeed leaving to visit Joyce.

Thomas was simply mesmerized on the idea and exclaimed how he longed to see her smile. He wasn’t much sure of any romantic affiliations, yet he was equally excited about sitting and talking with this old friend.

Around an hour before noon, Thomas and his son reached Adelaide, and Thomas couldn’t help in revealing the smile on his face. They had been in the air for almost two days and once they touched ground, were escorted in a waiting car to the beach-hotel where he was going to meet Joyce. The last time he saw her, he never could have imagined that it would be another seventy years before he would see her, he disclosed to Suggestive.

Morris’s face is also lit up with smiles at the hotel, as she receives Thomas. They engulf each other in a tight hug and then kiss one another’s cheeks. They were not two newly met young people any longer. Age might have pulled in wrinkles and confounded recollections, however sitting together again it was similar as to no time has passed.

“It is fabulous,” Thomas says. “Tommy has been letting me know about his life, and I have been letting him know about mine,” Morris includes. “I think he is splendid, Goodness, we have been having a decent old yarn.”

It’s been two months to the day since the sweethearts revived their relationship by means of Skype and Thomas chose to fly most of the way around the globe.

“When we talked on Skype I told her that one issue was that I couldn’t take her in my arms and give her a press. So one of the primary things I did, when I arrived, was to put my arm around her and gave her a squeeze,” Thomas says, as he pulls Morris firmly around the waist with that grin of his, sparkling on his face.

Asked whether he considers Morris still as delightful as the lady who he fell for during the ride on the Thames. Thomas delayed a little but nodded in affirmative, at which Morris told him with a flushed face that he was a liar.

Thomas proceeded, “I’ll let you know why, since when I look in the mirror and I see an aged face glancing back at me, I ponder what somebody could find in it.” Morris snickers. It is clear that Thomas is generally as enchanting as he was in 1945.

Like old companions, they talk about various subjects, about inside jokes and mutual recollections. Heading off to the photos, the war and how it isolated them, companions they once held dear and paddling on the Thames.

Things changed after 1945, Thomas was requested to rush home with hardly any caution. Morris prepared herself to be a medical attendant and moved with her family to Australia in 1962. They both wedded, and had altogether different lives a world far from one another.

“I have had a decent life, a great wedded life yet all through it there are times when I think back about what used to be and what might have been, and Joyce would always ring a bell,” Thomas says, before grinning at Morris.

However, Morris’ experience with her wedded life was not so great and she several times thought of the young boy she used to call “Tommy”.

“Throughout the years, I recalled,” she says, “I had a terrible marriage, and Tommy had a decent one. So obviously you recollect. However, I never thought for one minute that this was possible.” She had accepted the possibility that at this point he may have passed away, as he was continually performing adventurous tasks. “He was a thrill seeker,” she says, with a saucy flicker in her eye. “Well I used to have the capacity to do things I cannot do anymore,” Thomas teases. “There are a great deal of things we all can’t do now,” Morris concurs, not understanding she is being enchanted.

The long lost lovers plan to spend the following two weeks taking in the sights of Adelaide, before Thomas leaves on Feb. 26. “We haven’t had any tears, yet, however there may be at the point when he would be leaving,” Morris says.

Thomas did figure out how to sneak in that crush, however the couple’s first night together was significantly more quelled than 70 years prior. They talked about war, frosted tea, and the diversity in U.K. and US traditions.

“We got together, I invested a considerable amount of energy with her and it was extremely charming,” he says of his first night with Morris. “We thought back and I was truly delighted with the discussion we had.”

For those seeking a revival of a relationship after so long, Thomas says it is yet a sentimental’s fantasy. They both have different lives now.

“I’m enough of a realist to understand that there can be no rejoining romantically on account of her age, her family and her being currently an Australian resident and my age, and situation. All this makes it unthinkable for us to be as one,” Thomas says, painstakingly picking his words. “Along these lines, we truly appreciated this brief relationship and I hope to run home with lovely recollections and to proceed on communicating with her.”

Thomas stops, moans, then includes: “On the off chance that we were in the same nation, on the off chance that we didn’t have the differences that exist, then there might be a chance however I must be a pragmatist.”

So it appears, Joyce Morris will remain to be the “One that got away”.

Not following your heart is what will take you down gradually, piece by piece. Do what you love, don’t care about the rest. When you start making decisions that are focused on your happiness; nothing can bring you down. The first step towards staying positive is staying true to yourself and stop lying about what you want. Do things that you like instead of basking in other peoples’ glory. They are them, they are not you.

Fulfil your commitments

Think of it like this; if you walk away from your promises and commitments you will lose other peoples’ respect. And you will lose self-respect too – which is greater than any earthly reward. Always stay true to your word and earn the respect of your people. Become the man (or woman) of the crises. Be the first person someone calls when they are in trouble. Reliability is the core of inter-person relationships.

Document your goals; write them down, hang pictures

Today’s world is very fast paced. Everybody is overwhelmed. We don’t get the time to reminisce on important stuff. Instead of looking into the future we are tied down by the past and chained by the present.

The best way to deal with the haphazard life is to objectify your goals. Write them down, hang the picture of your dream car in your room, so that every time you look at it, it gives you motivation and life won’t be able to make your forget that ‘I will buy this car one day, so let’s continue working hard and let nothing stand in the way’.

A ‘bucket list’ like this will help you keep your focus and will constantly remind you of your goal that you are working towards.

1. Roanoke Island

Colonial Times were rough, especially for the first settlers. Queen Elizabeth I of England wanted to colonize North America, so she authorized a charter. Roanoke Island was colonized by Sir Walter Raleigh.  Settlers were brought over in waves. By 1587, there was a little over a hundred settlers. John White, the Roanoke Governor, left the colony to return to England in 1587 to gather supplies.

By the time he returned in 1590, the entire colony was deserted. On the side of one structure was etched, “Croatoan”. It was the name of a close by Native American settlement. White figured they moved there, but a search turned up nothing.

Researchers now believe that a drought occurred at the time, forcing the settlers to abandon their settlement. None of the settlers were ever found.

Charles University in Prague conducted a study to compare calculated intelligence and observed (felt) intelligence by showing the contestants still facial photographs of 40 men and women who had previously taken their IQ test. This study revealed that men with facial expressions somewhat prolonged with a broader distance between the eyes, a large nose, a slight upturn to the corners of the mouth, and a sharper, pointing, less rounded chin were considered intelligent.

When the researchers further inquired about the goofy sorts to be pointed out, this included men with broader and rounded faces with eyes closer to each other, a short nose, declining corners of the mouth, and a rounded and massive chin.

There was a surprising and interesting feedback from female study contestants, as the results were quite different, there was no match between the actual and observed intelligence for the female test subjects. There is a possibility of women being built-in smart than men, though this thought was not highlighted in the research.

Also, similar to shoots, it gets truly befuddling playing with three or more.

Tufts University conducted a study to gather researches to differentiate between male and female sexual choice, or let’s put it in more simple words to figure out if a man/woman was gay or straight. Simple headshots were shown to a group of students from various ads and personals. The pictures were displayed only for 50 milliseconds that would be around 1/20th of a second, and still people were able to gather what sexual choices those men would prefer. The same research was carried on with female pictures too, and that too came with the similar result.

A research was further carried out to determine the sexual behavior of females and males by studying just the facial structure. Lesbian women and straight men had more turned-up noses whereas gay men and straight women had more convex cheeks and shorter noses. Given the fact that these researches were tuned with speed, we have come to the conclusions that our brains are smarter when it comes to gathering facial features or we can simply rely on our gut feelings when it comes to relationships.

According to science, the types of sexual commitments we prefer is always typed all across our face and there is nothing that can be done to hide it. Researchers at Durham University published a study in the journal Evolution and Human Behavior, 700 men and women were asked about what they were looking for in a relationship, marriage or just a short term fling. After this the participants were showed pictures of other attendants and 72% of the research was done in one glance at the pictures and were correctly judged.

Guys who have a wide face, a square jaw, and small eyes, are more likely to keep their intimate relationships on the casual side.

Girls who have wide and big eyes with full lips, were more likely to have more relationships. The researches further added that men who look more boyish and macho tend to have more relationships while attractive females are pre-programmed to get involved in as many relationships as they want.

However this case can be different in both genders but again the percentage is up to 20% who would want to settle down and do commitments the rest will enjoy short term romances.

Psychologists, in a Tufts’ University study made participants to study the photographs of Senate candidates. All the participants were able to distinguish correctly between Democrats and Republicans, even though they were able to find a mixture of tattooed pictures in the research. The same research was repeated with senior college student’s photographs too, and amazingly similar results were achieved. The Democrats were identified as “warmer” and the Republicans were found as “more powerful.” However this research was performed with male majority.

With female candidates there is a whole different story, as the ones who had less feminine features were of democrat group and the ladies who had more feminine features were more likely to be of a Republic group.

The results of both the researches were quite similar, for example the CEOs- General Electric and Southwest Airlines had wider faces. Dogs can get really dirty, especially in their ears. Depending on the breed, a dog can produce a large buildup of earwax which will start to irritate them. The only things more irritating to them than an itch that can’t reach with their paws, are the vet and getting groomed. If you train your dog well enough, cleaning their ears should be a quick and painless experience. If you are unsure, make sure you have help if you need it.

First things first. A dog’s ears are sensitive. That’s why they howl so loud when they hear a dog whistle. Remember to be gentle. It shouldn’t hurt your dog to clean out their ears. If it does, stop the cleaning and seek the advice of your vet. Warning signs of ear problems include a red, swollen, or foul smelling ear, discharge, or scratching in the area.

The most recommended way to clean is through the use of cotton balls and an ear cleaning solution. These solutions can be picked up at your local pet supplies store or make one yourself.

If your dog is fidgeting, have someone gently secure your dog’s head, so they do not move. Make sure to reassure your dog that everything’s fine. Next, gently hold the ear flap up in order to fully expose the ear canal. Drop the recommended amount of solution into the ear. It should only be a few drops depending on your dog’s ear size. Do not overfill the ear cavity.

Take your fingers and gently massage around the outside of the ear canal. It is okay if you hear the solution moving around. It is breaking down the ear wax. After about 20-30 seconds, let your dog shake out the excess. To remove any remaining solution and earwax, gently take a cotton ball and swipe away the excess. If there is stubborn wax, you may want to insert the cotton ball in the canal and gently massage it once more. It is not recommended to use a cotton swab or any other such object because a slip of the hand can cause serious damage to your dog.

Be sure to reassure your dog when it’s over. Give them a treat, so they know that next time you clean their ears, it will be okay.

A lost dog saves young man’s life who had Down syndrome

Stacey Savige and Yolanda Sevogia are neighbors and best friend. One fine morning, Stacey brought a terrier to Yolanda’s house. She said she had found him wandering at a local elementary school. The two friends decided to help the lost dog. Yolanda took the dog in as the two prepared fliers and posted ads on Craigslist in a bid to find its owners.

Yolanda’s son Christian was 21 years old and Azaiah was 10 years old. Christian had recently undergone a serious surgery.  Couple of days later, Yolanda came home from work. The dog barked at her crazily, indicating that she should hurry into the house. When she opened the door, the dog RaeLee (Riley) ran to Christian’s room. Yolanda, curious, followed him and found the boy in a serious seizure. As soon as the dog realized Yolanda was taking care of the situation he stopped barking.

It was later revealed that Christian would’ve died of internal bleeding and suffocation If RaeLee hadn’t promptly asked for help.

Few days later Stacey got a call from the dog’s owner named Randy. Stacey, tearful told him what had happened. Next morning he drove to their house to pick up his dog. He found Azaiah crying outside. The overwhelming story of RaeLee saving Christian’s life was enough to convince Randy that the dog belong in this house. He warmly gifted them the dog saying, “He was meant to find you”.

Dog mourns his master a Navy SEAL at his funeral

In August 2011, Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson funeral had 1500 attendees. They quickly noticed Jon’s dog Hawkeye was grieving and mourning in front of the SEAL’s casket. He was lying moseyed right next to his master’s casket. It could be seen how deeply he cared for his human companion and also how well he realized the tragedy that had befallen. The most astonishing part of the story is that Capitan had never been to cemetery before. Miguel died in hospital and Capitan was not present at the funeral.
